Meet Chloe, founder of Skinny Mat, a small business based in Worthing, West Sussex. Chloe curates the artwork for every collection and oversees the personalisation of our mats from our small but perfectly formed studio on the South Coast.

Why I Created Skinny Mat

I started Skinny Mat after struggling to find a doormat that would fit beneath low-clearance doors without bunching up, curling at the edges or stopping the door from opening properly.

After numerous useless purchases of yet another doormat that didn’t fit under our low profile door, we sourced the ultimate thin door mat: less than 2mm thick, anti-slip and super absorbent.

Most mats I tested were either thin but ineffective, or absorbent but far too thick. Skinny Mat was created to combine an ultra-thin profile with the absorbency, grip and durability needed for everyday family life.

What started with family, friends and neighbours quickly grew into Skinny Mat. Today, our mats are used in homes across the UK and beyond, helping customers keep entrances, kitchens and utility rooms cleaner while avoiding the common problems associated with traditional mats.
